Choose between the imperfect and the preterite:

Nosotros (estudiar) hasta el año pasado.
Cuando Pedro (ser) jóven, él (fumar) cigarillos.
Albert Einstein (ser) un hombre famoso.

Conjugate the following verbs in the past using either preterite or imperfect. Remember to conjugate according to the subject of the sentence:

Yo (estar) mirando la televisión cuando mi mamá (llegar) a casa.
Cuando mis hermanos y yo (ser) jóvenes, siempre (ir) de vacaciones a las montañas rocosas.
Durante el día de mi cumpleaños el año pasado (llover) mucho y (hacer) aire fuerte. No me (divertir) nada en la fiesta esa noche.
Después de oír el sonido, María y José (correr) hasta su coche y (ir) a la policía.
Cuando mi mamá (terminar) de limpiar la casa (ser) las ocho de la noche.
El sábado pasado (haber) muchos accidentes porque (nevar) todo el día.
